Jersey Boys Fan Since:
September of 2007
Seen Jersey Boys How Many Times:
sadly only once. I wanna go again, definitely.
Seen Jersey Boys In:
Chicago
Favorite Scene:
I have several!
1. The most riveting is the one when Frankie finds out Francine died. Jarrod played the scene wonderfully and it made me cry.
2. The "Oh What A Night" scene. I'm an Austin Powers fan, and that's what it reminded me of.
3. The scene where Frankie's in the car with two unknown swindlers and they're arguing about Fairfield and Bloomfield. I laughed the hardest there.
4. The "Dawn Go Away" song number because the lighting was spectacular and that's my favorite song of my childhood. It was like the commercial.
5. The whole confrontation of Tommy's debt.
6. The jail scene. :)
7. The scene when Bob tells Frankie he's leavin' the group.
Favorite Line:
"A da possa a nuttata....This too shall pass."

"We weren't a social movement like the Beatles. Our fans didn't put flowers in their hair and try to levitate the Pentagon. Maybe they should have. Our people were the guys who shipped overseas...And their sweethearts. They were the factory workers, the truck drivers. The kids pumping gas, flipping burgers. The pretty girl with circles under her eyes behind the counter at the diner. They're the ones who really got us, who pushed us over the top."

Tommy singin' "Oh me oh me oh my-o, did some time in old Ohio-"

And the closing line which I love to hear John say:
"They ask you, what was the high point? The Hall of Fame? Selling all those records? Pulling "Sherry" out of the hat? It was all great. But four guys under a streetlamp, when it was all still ahead of us.... the first time we made that sound--our sound--when everything dropped away and all there was was the music--that was the best.
That's why I'm still out there singing--like that bunny on TV with the battery. I just keep going and going and going. Chasing the music. Trying to get home."
Favorite Song:
Dawn Go Away, You're the Apple of My Eye, Fallen Angel, Walk Like A Man, and Who Loves You. When I'm having a bad day, I listen to this song, and it's comforting for me.

October 25 coming closer...

So...did very well on my first Biology test, 93%, but because the rest of the class failed it, EVERYONE had to retake it. I did one question better, but it still averages out to 93%. :P A+ on my math test. 107% (there was some extra credit). Easy. Doing well in all of my classes. :)
In PE today, we were playing wuffleball (how do you spell that?) and since two people were batting at once, I was batting with a friend. Well, I bent down to get the ball, and he swung that bat.

Yeah. Ouch. I have a… Continue

Things Going Well

37/40 points on my first Biology assignment. :-D
My Bio teacher has "Bio Bucks" or extra credit fake dollar bills with her picture on it.
Because I was the only student who took notes during and educational movie, I received 3.
:-DD
Testing today was alright. The math part was easy. I made a couple new friends. Things are going alright so far.
I'm looking forward to this weekend. I'm headed to Bloomington to stay with my cuz Missy. :)
I have to run a mile in PE tomorrow. :S I hate running. But I… Continue

Well...

High school itself is going well. But this week...at night, before I go to bed, I've been just really depressed. I don't know what it is...today my counselor came and I went with her to her office so we could talk about my schedule change.
I ended up crying to her.
I guess everything with nana was really starting to get to me. My whole summer, too. It's been an emotional week. I guarentee that every night since school started I've cried. I really don't understand why. I think I worry a bit much,… Continue

First Day of High School

Okay..today was Freshman Orientation. I had the best day of my life!!

First off....I felt like an adult. See, my mom works at my old school. So it was great belonging in my own world, and being responsible.

I found my classes okay, with the help of a few teachers. :) I also found my locker right away. But it's on the third floor, so I don't have much time to change my books AND get to class, so I'll have to carry my books around all day, but I have only 3, I think, so that'll be okay.

I reall… Continue

Check out my new music myspace! I now have two myspaces:

Yeah! You can write to Jarrod. Look for the address of the Bank of America Theater, and for the recipient, write:

Jarrod Spector
c/o Jersey Boys

Don't forget to include a self addressed, stamped envelope. :)

Ahhh again with the long comments!!!! It looks like I'm out of control. I love reading long comments, but I'm always worried that people will get tired of mine if I start getting too long.

Whoa a girl who sings, plays, and writes songs...You just hit the trifecta. And you act too. Wow. I listened to your piano pieces, very nice. I think a couple of times the tempo could have stayed a little more steady, but you play very well. I'm very impressed. I'd love to hear you sing sometime, I know you sing because of your choir class. You obviously have musical talent. I don't play piano. I play trombone and I sing (whether or not I sing well might be a little debatable. I think I'm okay though.).

I also loved your "influences" on your myspace. That you included your nana, JLY, Neil Sedaka, and Frankie Valli. That's really nice. And your myspace quote...I definitely recognized that from...oh where could it have come from... ;-). LOL. It's a good choice.

I'll send you a message about Assassins sometime. Thanks for listening. I know when I get off on tangents about musicals, there's usually no coming back. It's a problem I have. You should have seen me all last year going on about JB...I still do sometimes, although I've gone off on other musicals too. I think my first full blown musical obsession was Rent. I was really into Les Miz for a while before that though, but I don't think I was really obsessed. Then came Jersey Boys, and now it's sort of a tie between Les Miz and JB. seeing JLY in Les Miz rally brought me back to loving Les Miz. I had almost forgotten how much I loved it. Has that ever happened to you?

Well, other than that, I just had a cupcake. It was a very good cupcake. I went to Yummy Cupcakes again. That place is fairly magical in my opinion.

Oh and about the Bloomington connection...who knows... maybe we are related. Well, JB sisters anyway. Right? Talk to you soon.

I'm glad you had a good time in Bloomington. My dad just told me that I sort of have a family connection to Bloomington. Apparently, me great-great-grandfather was inducted into the Union Army during the Civil War in Bloomington. We have another connection! It's nice that you voted for JLY's blog. And don't worry about the frickin...you know how school gets. I hear worse pretty much everyday. I use worse on occasion, although I try not to. And thanks for the email. It made me smile.

Wow, revising a letter 7 times. You are so careful. Basically, I don't revise my letters...I do sometimes spend about 5-10 minutes on one sentence making sure it's somewhat correct, though. ;-). Anyway, I'm impressed with your particularity.

I am doing pretty well. Today is nice. My family is planning to get cupcakes, so that's always fun. Cupcakes are just happy food. I saw a musical on Saturday, a dark humor Stephen Sondheim musical called Assassins. As weird and creepy as it was, it was still (oddly) a lot of fun. I kind of love Stephen Sondheim. He's a genius. I had wanted to see that show for a long time, and the production I saw was amazing. It was in this little (really tiny) theatre, and I ended up sitting in the front row, which was literally about a foot from the stage (a low stage). It was very nice, although it was a little odd when I realized that Leon Czolgosz (assassinated President William McKInley) was sitting two seats away from me....yeah that was odd. Also, when John Wilkes Booth (Lincoln) was stomping his foot right in from of me....and when John Hinkley (attempted assassin for Regan), I think made eye contact with me a couple of times. There were some odd moments to be sure, but it was just an incredible show. Very intimate, which may have been a little weird considering the subject matter, but oh well. It's nice to see theatre like that sometimes. Anyway, enough about Assassins. If you want I could talk more about it later, but only if you'd like it.

Other than that school is fine. I'm haning out with my musical-theatre geek friends, although she doesn't know Jersey Boys. I told her my JLY meeting story, and she started freaking out. It was nice, and pretty much all my friends are impressed with my summer. That makes me happy. I also did pretty well on my first AP Lit test. Go me! And that's pretty much all that's going on with me.

Hope school goes well this week. And I hope Nikki feels better soon.

Hi Beth!
Are you home yet? How was Bloomington? And of course how has your weekend been? I nominated JLY's blog for Best Celebrity Blogger. In case you wanted to vote, the link is http://www.bloggerschoiceawards.com/blogs/show/56249. It's so great that the JB Blog was nominated! I voted. Voting is the sacred right of the people..I can't remember who said that. I think it might have been Lincoln...or Jefferson...I'm not sure. Well, it's a great saying anyway! How is life for you right now?

I'm doing quite well. School has been fairly manageable, at least so far. And today, I got a lovely little card from JLY!!!! That causes great happiness, and is the forecast of a very good day. Today, in Drama we had a question, "Who's your favorite actor/actress? Why?" For actor, well who should come up but JLY? I had a complete flashback to what you said about your choir class on the blog. It was great to tell the class about his many wonderful qualities and talents. I'm looking forward to seeing a musical tomorrow, so as of now, I'm incredibly happy. What are your plans for the weekend?

Talk to you soon,
Amanda

This is my player. I hope you enjoy the songs.
